The Best Places to Get Married in Augusta, Georgia (And How to Make the Ceremony Unforgettable)

Augusta, Georgia doesn't always get the credit it deserves as a wedding destination.

People think of The Masters. They think of James Brown and the history and the Savannah River. What they don't always think of is how genuinely beautiful this city becomes on a wedding day — the Spanish moss hanging off old oaks in the Summerville neighborhood, the golden light hitting the Riverwalk in the late afternoon, the gardens at Meadow Garden blooming in spring.

I've officiated ceremonies all over Augusta and the Central Savannah River Area, and I can tell you firsthand: this place has magic in it, if you know where to look.

Here's a guide to some of the most beloved spots for getting married in and around Augusta — along with a few notes on what makes each one work for a ceremony.

The Augusta Riverwalk

The Augusta Riverwalk is one of the most recognizable outdoor settings in the city, and for good reason. The Savannah River provides a stunning natural backdrop, and the pavilion areas offer flexibility for both intimate and larger ceremonies. The late afternoon light here is extraordinary — golden, warm, and perfect for photos.

For ceremonies at the Riverwalk, I'd recommend planning for a shorter, more intimate script. Outdoor venues near water carry sound differently, and keeping the ceremony focused and meaningful — rather than long — tends to work best.

Meadow Garden

Meadow Garden, the historic home of George Walton (one of Georgia's signers of the Declaration of Independence), is one of Augusta's hidden gems for weddings. The property has a timeless, old-South elegance that suits traditional and romantic ceremonies beautifully.

I've worked with couples who chose Meadow Garden specifically because they wanted a ceremony that felt grounded in history. If that resonates with you, this venue rewards the choice.

Pendleton King Park

Pendleton King Park offers one of the most beautiful outdoor settings in Augusta, with mature trees, open lawns, and a peaceful atmosphere that feels removed from the city even though you're right in the middle of it. It's a popular choice for garden-style ceremonies and works especially well in spring and fall.

For outdoor ceremonies in Augusta — and Pendleton King Park in particular — I always advise couples to have a clear plan for weather, and to make sure their officiant is comfortable adapting on the spot. Weather in Georgia does what it wants.

The Foundry at Eno

For couples who want something more contemporary and industrial-chic, The Foundry at Eno in North Augusta is a stunning option. The exposed brick, high ceilings, and flexible layout make it one of the most versatile venue spaces in the CSRA.

Ceremonies at The Foundry tend to have a different energy than outdoor ceremonies — more contained, more intimate, and often more emotionally powerful because the acoustics carry every word clearly to every guest. I love officiating here.

Aiken, SC: Just Across the River

Augusta couples often overlook Aiken, South Carolina — which is a mistake. Aiken has a horse-country elegance and a rich historic district that offers some of the most beautiful private estate and venue options in the entire CSRA.

I officiate regularly in Aiken County and am fully authorized to perform ceremonies in South Carolina. If you're considering venues in Aiken, don't let the state line stop you — and don't let it stop you from reaching out to ask about ceremonies there.

Courthouse Weddings in Augusta

Not every beautiful wedding happens at a venue. Some of the most moving ceremonies I've performed have been small courthouse weddings — just the couple, their witnesses, and the words that changed everything.

If you're considering a courthouse or elopement-style wedding in Augusta, I specialize in making those ceremonies feel just as sacred and intentional as any venue wedding. Small doesn't mean less. Sometimes small means more.

The Most Important Element at Any Venue

Here's the thing about venues: they set the stage, but they don't make the ceremony.

The ceremony comes from the words spoken, the story told, and the energy held by the person standing at the front of the room. The most beautiful venue in Augusta can host a flat, forgettable ceremony. And a folding chair ceremony in someone's backyard can bring a room to tears if the words are right.

If you're planning a wedding in Augusta, Georgia and you want a ceremony that your guests will talk about for years, I'd love to be part of it. Visit augustaofficiant.com or call 762-215-6569 to book a consultation.
