Bilingual Wedding Officiant in Augusta: English and Spanish Ceremonies Every Guest Can Follow
Yes, you can book a bilingual wedding officiant in Augusta. Our team at Augusta Officiant performs ceremonies in English and Spanish, so guests on both sides of the aisle can follow what is being promised.
When two families share a wedding but not a first language, somebody usually ends up watching the ceremony instead of hearing it. A grandmother smiles at the right moments because everyone around her is smiling. A ceremony in both languages fixes that, and it is easier to put together than most couples expect.

What does a bilingual wedding officiant actually do?
A bilingual wedding officiant leads the ceremony in two languages and helps you decide which parts belong in which. The goal is plain. Every guest should understand the vows and the pronouncement without leaning over to ask a cousin what was just said.
Everything else is the same work any good officiant does. We write or prepare the ceremony, keep things calm at the front, and complete your marriage license correctly.
How do you split a ceremony between English and Spanish?
There is no single right way. These are the usual starting points, and we talk them through with you before anything is settled.
Alternating languages section by section, so neither side of the room waits long
Vows in one language and readings in the other
Most of the ceremony in one language, with the vows, ring exchange, and pronouncement said in both
Each of you speaking your vows in your own first language
You can mix these. The welcome might be in both languages and the rest mostly in English, with a Spanish reading from someone in the family. Tell us who will be sitting in the chairs, and we will suggest a shape that fits them.
Will a ceremony in two languages run long?
It can, if every sentence is said twice. That is the main reason to choose which moments get both languages. The heart of a wedding ceremony is short. The vows, the rings, and the pronouncement take a few lines each, so repeating those adds little time and matters a great deal to the people listening.
If your guests will be standing, or it is August in Georgia, keep that in mind when you decide how much to repeat.
Which package fits an English and Spanish ceremony?
We have three packages, and the prices are the same all year.
License Signing: no ceremony, just a legal signing. $60 when you come to us, or $100 when we meet you anywhere in Augusta or Richmond County
Elopement Ceremony: $200. A short ceremony with a set script, standard vows, and a ring exchange, for up to 20 guests
Custom Ceremony: $400. Written from scratch for the two of you, with one planning meeting before the wedding, and we attend the rehearsal
The Custom Ceremony gives language choices the most room, because it is written from scratch and comes with a planning meeting. Tell us what you have in mind and we will tell you honestly which package fits. Payment plans are available on every package, split into as many payments as you like. The Custom Ceremony works out to about $33 a month over 12 months, or about $67 a month over 6. The details are on our packages page.
Para parejas que hablan español
Hablamos español. ¿Prefieren escribirnos en español? Adelante. Con gusto les contamos cómo podemos celebrar su ceremonia en inglés y en español, para que toda la familia entienda cada palabra.
In English: write to us in whichever language is easier, and we will go from there.
Does the marriage license work any differently?
No. Hiring a bilingual wedding officiant changes nothing about the license, which is the same for every couple. Georgia has no waiting period, no residency requirement, and no witnesses required, and the license is usually issued the same day. If you have a question about your documents, call the probate court before you make the trip. We have guides to the Richmond County marriage license and the Columbia County marriage license.
At the ceremony we complete and sign the license and hand it to you. You return it to the probate court yourselves, in person or by mail, within 30 days, and you can ask for certified copies when you do.
Why choose a licensed and insured officiant team?
A relative who speaks both languages can be a wonderful choice, and anyone can get ordained online in minutes. What a friend cannot easily get is a business license in every county they officiate in, or a $2 million liability policy. Many Augusta area venues now ask officiants for both a business license and proof of liability insurance, and more are expected to ask. If you would still love that bilingual cousin involved, a reading is a great job for them.
We are veteran owned and family run, with three officiants and a backup officiant system, so a ceremony is never left without an officiant. We have married more than 1,200 couples across the CSRA, we are licensed to officiate in Georgia and South Carolina, and we have been the go to officiant team at Windsor Manor in Augusta since 2022. Our fees also support the Augusta Birth Center, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Bilingual wedding officiant FAQ
Can the whole ceremony be in Spanish?
Our team performs ceremonies in English and in Spanish. Tell us the balance you want when you get in touch, and we will talk through how to make it work for your guests.
Does every word have to be said in both languages?
No. A bilingual wedding officiant can alternate languages by section, keep the vows in one language and the readings in the other, or repeat the vows and pronouncement in both. We go over the options with you before the wedding.
Do you offer ceremonies in languages other than English and Spanish?
English and Spanish are the two languages our officiants perform in. If your family speaks another language, a relative or friend is welcome to give a reading or a blessing in it during the ceremony.
Where does your team travel?
Our home base is the CSRA, which includes Augusta, Evans, Grovetown, Martinez, Hephzibah, North Augusta, and Aiken. We also travel to Columbia SC, Atlanta, Savannah, and Charleston. Atlanta adds a $200 travel fee, Savannah and Charleston add about $200 to $300, and for Columbia you can ask us for a quote for your location. Payment plans cover travel too.
We live out of town. How do we plan the ceremony?
For couples who are not local, planning meetings happen by Zoom or FaceTime. Tell us your time zone and we will find a time that works.
